Yum, scones!

I found a recipe for some really easy scones and decided to try it out yesterday. We've been couped up in the house for a few days since we've had SO much snow, and I'm trying to keep myself busy. Owen loves to help me cook and bake and of course I couldn't keep him from helping make Scones!

He loves to stir stuff...

Owen and our ingredients

He helped me roll out the dough and cut the scones in heart shapes

Our first batch of scones fresh out of the oven

He got to try a hot one

he really liked it, even if the face he's making isn't too convincing haha!

I'm so glad that he's so comfortable in the kitchen and that we can share so many fun times while making goodies! He ended up eating 4 scones yesterday... he snuck one without me seeing!!!

Here's the recipe!!!

INGREDIENTS
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup white sugar
5 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter
1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter. Mix the egg and milk in a small bowl, and stir into flour mixture until moistened.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead briefly. Roll dough out into a 1/2 inch thick round. Cut into 8 wedges, and place on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
