pack, pack, pack, puke?!

Well, as if I couldn't be more stressed out... on Friday evening Owen an I were on our way home from a friends house and he was looking super tired. We got home and I felt his forehead and he was running a bit of a temperature. I gave him a little tylenol to help him feel better, but after he went into the living room he sat down and up it came! He seemed as if he felt fine after he threw up and Derek continued to feed him. Later on, I was on my way to bed and I checked Owen (as I do every night). I happened to wake him a little and I darted out of the room... as I walked away he started to cry. I peeked in his room and he had thrown up again! Poor guy! Well, he got it all over my seahawks blanket, his blanket, his jammies, and his sheet. I grabbed it all off the bed and realized that we sold our washer and dryer 2 weeks ago!!! Crap!!! Derek washed up Owen and put him in new jammies while I put new sheets on his bed. I had to go to my mom's house at 1030 and wash his pukey bedding. I was so tired and all I could think was "why this weekend and not next weekend?! The last thing I need right now is to have to clean up puke while I pack..." Thank God, Owen's feeling much better... hopefully he's done with this flu and it won't get in the way of the rest of our packing.

A night of good laughs

Derek has been swearing to me that Aaron Carter back in the day sang a country song. I knew he was wrong and we kept having little arguments about it. I was frustrated cause I knew who he was talking about, but couldn't remember the name of the kid or the darn song! So, tonight he brought it up once again... and the same argument started haha! I finally got onto itunes and looked up Aaron Carter. There was no country song on his list, so I did a little search on Yahoo. No country song on there either. At this time I was feeling frustrated cause I just wanted to know who sang the song and prove Derek wrong!(that's the Taurus in me ;]) I ended up typing in "young country singer" in a search and up popped "One Voice by Billy Gilman" and I knew that was the one! I blurted it out and Derek said "that's right! Billy Gilman!" he wasn't too happy that I was right and he was wrong, but I laughed pretty hard at the fact he thought it was Aaron Carter hehe! (still chuckling about it!)

And being the Myspace lady I am, I thought it'd be fun to look him up on there and see what he's up to. He has a myspace and we got onto it and checked out the new songs and then blared "One Voice". It was hysterical!!! I can't believe that song was ever a hit! Then I got to looking at his page and low and behold he's got a Holiday greeting comment from Jolly Saint Nick! That was so funny! I couldn't even tell Derek what the comment said cause I was laughing SO hard! We went onto Jolly Saint Nick's page and it's pretty funny too... maybe it was all the cleaning fumes or packing I've been doing to make me a little delirious, but it's been a funny evening!!! [:

It may not be as funny on here as the actual event, but I had to tell the story ;]

Holy cow it's coming close!

I got an e-mail from our new landlord and she said we could start moving things in on the 30th of September instead of all on the 1st of October and that we may even be able to start the 29th if they're ready! I'm so excited I can't hardly stand it, but then again I'm freaking out (I'm sure I've said that a few times! haha!) We've got so much to do still and I know we can do it, it's just gonna take determination... I am so excited to get in there! I'll have to post photos as soon as I get all unpacked!

It has started

I started packing up the house today... man I feel like it's gonna take me forever to do it! I spent a couple of hours and I got 2 boxes full! That's it!!! All of my pictures are off the walls and all of my decorative stuff is in the same box with the pictures. It seems so bare in here and everything I stop to think about it I get kinda sad. I am so excited to move, but I'm sad to leave this place behind and all the people that came with it. Above us is Scott, Jessica, Jacob and Logan. Owen, Jacob and Logan play just about every day together and have a blast! I'm gonna miss sitting outside with this family and chatting away while the boys run around. Next to us is Tyrone, Sheree and Ariyana... I can't begin to say how much I'm going to miss them! They've been so awesome with watching Owen, letting me use the treadmill and really for just a great friendship! Upstairs from them is Travis and Danielle, although I don't get to hang out with them all that often, they're a great couple and will miss them too. It's sad :( I know that we'll see everyone from time to time, but it won't be the same. I keep telling myself that we'll all still get together for BBQ's and bonfires... I know we will and I'm excited to have them over to our new place!!! 15 more days!!!!

Blessings

I have had quite a bit of down time these last 2 weeks since Derek's been taking my car to work and I've realized how blessed I truly am. I not only have an amazing husband and an awesome son, but I've got a great mom and sister. My mom and Danielle are always willing to help out in any way they can and I feel so priviledged to have them in my life! Also, Derek's parents come up to our place every wednesday morning to watch Owen so I can go to Weight Watchers and they're also willing to help in so many ways! My neighbor Sheree has graciously let me use her treadmill so I can continue to workout while our YMCA membership is on hold to save a bit of money. It's just hit me that there is so much more in my life that I have to be thankful for. This move has done a lot for my faith and my spirit. Life is amazing and I don't want to take anything or anyone for granted!!!!

The Puyallup Fair!

Yesterday I took my neighbor Sheree and her daughter Ariyana with me and Owen down to the Puyallup Fair. We watched the parade go right past my sisters house and got to go the fair for free! It's free every year the opening day before noon, which made it nice for us to go since we're trying to save money! We walked around and saw all the animals, which Owen loved! He kept saying "Hi Cow" or "Hi chicken"... he said hi to each animal, it was too cute! We had krusty pup's and tried to find some good ice cream, but decided to hit up Baskin Robbin's instead on the way home. Owen loved his ice cream and kept showing me his cone and saying "Ice CREAM!". He's a fairly clean little guy and when the ice cream started to melt down his hand he looked at it and said "EW!!" haha! Ariyana had her first taste of ice cream and boy did she love it! (She's only 6 months old ;]) We went home after that and all of us napped... it was a fun day!

As for the house, it's officially ours! The landlords want us in by the 1st of October... gosh that's soon!!!! I let our current landlord know that we'd be moving out and he first got upset with us saying that we are responsible for any damage since it was perfect when we moved in. He for some reason thought we had just moved in... He corrected himself and realized we have 2 months left in our lease. I told him he's more than welcome to show the place while we're still there and take photos for any advertising. That ended up going a lot smoother than I thought it would and I'm so glad it did! He reassured me that they have great luck with Craigslist and it's usually rented out within a few weeks of posting the ad. I'm praying so!

We're still having a tough time saving for the first/last and deposit on the new house, but I'm not giving up hope! I know how awesome God is and the amazing things he's already done in our lives and I'm sure it'll all work out! We're trying so hard and I know God sees our efforts and sees our needs. Anyways, this is a long blog and I'm supposed to be working... eeek! ;]

God will provide!

Derek and I are saving for the first month/last month and deposit at the new place and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all. I know that this place is perfect for us and it was basically put in our laps for a reason. We're doing whatever we can to save up as much as possible. I am selling things on craigslist and Derek is doing extra work as much as possible. Also, Derek has been taking my car to work to save on gas and I've been staying at home all day.

The numbers I come up with are just not what we need... I'm praying hard and keeping faith knowing that God will provide! This is a definate test for me especially when it comes to money! I have a hard time giving up control, but I know that's why I'm being tested. It's a huge learning experience and my faith in the Lord is growing!
